History
The Norddeutsche Essenzenfabrik was founded on 1 May 1943 by Friedrich Neumeyer.
The first essences went to the beverage and spirits industry. However, because Bremen was close to important locations of the fish and delicatessen industry, the company soon began developing spice extracts for this sector as well.
Gradually, it expanded its scope and established new business fields, soon supplying essences to the entire food industry.
