Since September 2001, foodstuffs from organic cultivation can display the German "Bio" seal.
The small, hexagonal seal with the word "Bio" is a clear, uniform indication of organic produce.
Consumers can now depend on it -
if it says "Bio", it really is organic.
That's because only producers and manufacturers who observe the terms of the EU Organic Farming Directive and submit to the relevant inspections are allowed to sell theirproducts as organic and to use the "Bio" seal.
